EMDR Consultation for Therapists

Beneath the facade, you are scared sh*tless.

An email arrives with the subject line “Looking for EMDR Therapist.”

Terror and dread quickly replace your initial excitement as a newly trained EMDR therapist.

Self-doubt surges at the thought of using the “8-phase protocol.”

“Maybe I should refer this client to a real EMDR therapist.”

Right now, you feel confused.

Explaining EMDR to clients is like giving directions to the moon.

Leading clients to find their “calm safe place,” caused at least one of your clients to cry.

Using the full 8-phase protocol was reminiscent of assembling IKEA furniture for your office.

Frustrated, you wonder if you may benefit from some EMDR to reprocess the experience you have had thus far attempting to learn EMDR therapy.

Imposter syndrome strikes again.

On the way home, you think, “I must be the worst EMDR therapist ever. What is wrong with me?”

Attending trainings is not enough.

Defeated, you resort to using other therapeutic modalities you are more comfortable with: CBT, DBT, psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Hope is here!

Learning to use EMDR therapy is hard! It is common for newly trained EMDR therapists to feel confused, intimidated, and overwhelmed.

You can use EMDR successfully. Consultation works!

I am here to help. As an EMDR certified therapist, I am trained and ready to support you as you move past fear and find clarity.

Consultation leads to clarity.

As we work together, you will begin feeling less self-doubt using EMDR therapy, allowing you to feel more sure of yourself and more confident in your ability to effect real change in clients’ lives.

In addition to experiencing changes in your own ability as an EMDR therapist, you’ll be begin to see and hear positive changes in your clients as well. You and your client will feel relieved as their SUD rating decreases each session.

You will learn to use EMDR in a way that not only helps your clients reach their goals, but that ensures you and your client have a positive experience, too.

Gain the experience to administer EMDR.

With the proper consultation, you can gain the experience to administer EMDR without feeling scared, confused, or like an imposter.
